Theodore "Ted" Hrinko

Theodore “Ted” S. Hrinko (90) passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024.  Ted was born in Erie, PA on November 14, 1933, to Justin and Anna Hrinko.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, George and William “Johnny”, and his sister, Kay as well as his daughter-in-law, Gina (Patchell) Hrinko.  Ted is survived by his beloved partner of 59 years, Nada (Stevoff) Hrinko; his children, Bill Hrinko, Ted Hrinko and Natalie (Jeff) Hines; his grandchildren, Olivia, Madison, Devin and Natasha; and his siblings, Evelyn Osborne and Tom Hrinko.

Ted served the nation in the U.S. Air Force.  After earning his Bachelor’s degree, he spent many years working at Nationwide Insurance Company in data processing.  He also attended Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus, OH.  A common sentiment that his family heard from anyone who interacted with Ted was how “sweet” of a man he was. He found it easy to care about others and to invest in their lives.  This was especially evident with his children and grandchildren.  Ted always made a point of supporting and attending as many of their events as he could.  Even as it became harder for him to get around, he did his best to get to where they were, not wanting to miss what his family was involved in.  He and Nada enjoyed traveling in their motorhome.  From their adventures, he adopted and took as his personal mantra, “On the road again”.  He, just with his wife, but also as a family had many fun experiences and adventures with that in mind.  The next time you hear that song think of him on his epic “On the road again” adventure. 

The family will receive friends at Tidd Funeral Home 9720 SR 161 in Plain City, OH on Wednesday, February 28. Visitation will be from 4-5 PM with a service at 5:00 PM.  Father John Shrump will officiate.  Ted will be laid to rest in Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, OH.
