Ruth E. Martin

Ruth E. (Morrison) Martin, 95, passed into the waiting arms of Jesus on September 23, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, love, strength, and a lifetime spent caring for others.

Ruth was born on September 8, 1931, in Fremont, Ohio, the daughter of Howard and Martha (Huddle) Morrison. She graduated from Hamilton Township High School in 1948 and soon began one of the greatest chapters of her life when she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Martin. Together, Ruth and Bob built a life centered around their family, raising their children and creating the foundation for the many generations that would follow.

For Ruth, family was never simply a part of her life—it was at the heart of it. She had a natural way of taking care of those around her and spent much of her life making sure everyone else was cared for. Whether it was her children, grandchildren, or close friends. Ruth was always quietly giving of herself and putting the people she loved first. Even as the years passed, she remained fiercely independent and continued doing things for herself and others until the very end.

As her children became school age Ruth began another chapter of her life as Personnel manager at Sears Westland Mall. Her caring nature and ability to connect with people followed her wherever she went.

Ruth also found great joy in the simple beauty of flowers. Roses held a special place in her heart, as did her beloved clematis vine. Each year, she looked forward to watching it bloom—a familiar and beautiful reminder of the changing seasons. Much like the flowers she so lovingly admired, Ruth’s life blossomed into something far greater than herself. The family she and Bob began grew to include grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each generation carrying forward a piece of the life and love they created together.

Ruth is survived by her children, Brenda Atkins, Janice (Bob) Kaufman, Robert (Gale) Martin, Steven (Dina) Martin, and Lisa (Anthony) Garrison; daughter-in-law, Kim Martin; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren, with twins to be added in the near future. She also leaves behind several dear friends who she enjoyed talking with during commercials of their favorite show, or nightly gatherings in their little corner of their world.

The family invites friends to call at TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Plain City-Dublin Chapel, 9720 State Route 161, Plain City, Ohio 43026, on TUESDAY, September 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park.
