Norman Headings

d. August 10, 2020

Norman C Headings, age 73, a life- long resident of Plain City, passed away on August 10, 2020 at his residence after a yearlong battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Norm attended Jonathan Alder High school while growing up on a dairy farm built by his dad Chauncey on Amity Pike.  Norm loved to reminisce fondly about his childhood growing up with 10 brothers and sisters milking cows and growing crops. Known to his friends as "Squeek", he enjoyed playing a variety of sports and had many hobbies which included fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening, boating, watching Alder High School athletic teams, and even driving race cars in his younger days. He especially loved watching his kids and grandkids play sports and never missed a game. He was a carpenter by trade and was known for his perfectionism and quality work.

Those that were friends with Norm would describe him as a giving, caring soul. He enjoyed the simple life and did not care about material things. Dad would rather give away then to have and was generous with all. Dad knew The Lord and we take comfort that he is no longer in pain and is in Jesus' presence.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents: Chauncey and Gertie (Garver) Headings; brothers Jerry Headings, Fred Headings and an infant brother; sisters Katie (Dick) Faeta, and Ester Campbell.  He is survived by his children Joshua (Stephanie) Headings of Plain City and Kimberly (Clint) Hayes of Plain City.  He has 5 grandchildren: Breckin Francis, Ava Francis, Alisandra Hayes, Annalise Hayes and Adriana Hayes all of Plain City.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Loving Care Hospice of London, Ohio. A private family funeral service will be held 1 pm Thursday at TIDD FUNERAL HOME, DUBLIN-PLAIN CITY CHAPEL, 9720 S.R. 161, Plain City, OH 43064 with Pastor Phil Conrad officiating. Interment Forest Grove Cemetery, Plain City.
