Jay Timothy Vanscoy

With deepest sorrow and love, we announce that Jay Timothy Vanscoy, age 41 of Hilliard, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2021.

The youngest of two sons, Jay was born to Danny and Carmen Vanscoy in Hilliard, Ohio, on January 10, 1980.  He was a 1998 graduate of Hilliard Davidson High School who enjoyed playing cards, swimming, and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Jay was blessed with a large and loving family.  He is survived by his parents, Danny and Carmen Vanscoy of Hilliard Ohio; brother, Dan (Chantel) Vanscoy; nephew, Jordan Vanscoy; and nieces, Grace and Madison Vanscoy.  He also leaves behind maternal aunt, Beth Kitts of Kemah, TX; maternal uncles, Don Poole of Houston, TX, and Richard Poole of Marietta, OH; paternal aunt, Peggy Moore of Salem, OH; paternal uncle, Roy (Donna) Vanscoy.  Surviving cousins are Abbie Tabatabaie-Kromhout, Jenny Tabatabaie Reiser, Colleen Sosa, Julianna Poole-Sawyer, Debbie Colian, Vicki Harlan, Jason Vanscoy, and Marshall Vanscoy.

Preceding Jay in death are his maternal grandmother, Bessie Poole; maternal grandfather, 

Richard Poole; paternal grandmother, Regina Vanscoy; paternal grandfather, Roy Vanscoy, and paternal uncle, Don Vanscoy; and paternal cousin, Susan Vanscoy.

Jay was a blessing to everyone who knew him.  He gave his life to Christ on July 9, 1989, and his priority was to ever faithfully serve Him and minister to others in His name.  Jay was a lifelong member of the Hilliard Church of Christ, but his reach extended far beyond his hometown and church family.  His passion for God, humble spirit, and unwavering faith remain an inspiration.  His wit, wisdom, and laughter will be sorely missed.  Danny and Carmen wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to friends, family, and health-care professionals who supported, encouraged, and adored their beloved son throughout his life.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, Ohio. Family will receive friends Friday, February 12, 2021, from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm at the Hilliard Church of Christ, 4300 Avery Rd., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday, February 13, 2021, with Steve Petty officiating.
