Jack Slane

Jack Emmerson Slane, age 84, sunrise in Columbus, OH May 29, 1942 to the late Jack Emmerson and Estelle Slane, transitioned into heaven June 19, 2026. US Army Veteran, serving in Verdun, France. Jack was a retired firefighter with 20 years of service with Prairie Township and 25 years of service with Norwich Township fire departments, also worked 10 years part time at Sears Westland and 7 years at Sam’s Club. Life Member of American Legion Post #201, West Jefferson, OH. Preceded in death by wife Darlene (Eastep) Slane, sisters Cecelia (Slane) Wilson and Rebecca (Schroyer) Moore, brothers Randal Schroyer, Robert Schroyer, Richard Schrader, Andrew Schroyer and Donald Schrader, Betty Schroyer and Raymond Wolfe. Survived by former wife Diane Slane, children Mark (Tina) Slane, Michael (Lynn) Slane, Michelle Slane and friend Brian Hicks, stepdaughter Lynn (Ed) Reynolds, stepson Gregory (Sherry) Perkins, grandchildren Alexis, Ross, Crystal, Wesley, Jewel, Taeson, Holly, Abigail and Shae, great grandchildren Tayvion, Antonio, Lamar, Onyx and Dean, 6 step grandchildren, great granddaughters Aspen, Emila and great grandson Adrik, great great granddaughter Tay’lani and Jack C. Family will receive friends from 1pm-3pm on Wednesday, June24, 2026 at TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will follow at 3pm.
