With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and friend, Gladys Maxine (Jewett) Koenig. A life beautifully lived
and cherished, she brought warmth, love, and joy to all who were fortunate enough to
know her.
Maxine was born on April 11, 1931, a beacon of light in the lives she touched.
Throughout her remarkable journey, she illuminated the world with her radiant smile,
nurturing spirit, and unwavering love. On August 8, 2023, surrounded by the love of her
family, she peacefully transitioned to her Heavenly home, leaving behind a legacy that
will forever live on in our hearts.
Maxine was a devoted mother to her three children, Pam, Jerry, and Cheryl. She
cherished her role as a mother, finding immeasurable joy in watching her children grow,
supporting them through every triumph and challenge. Her heart swelled with love as
her family expanded to include cherished in-laws: Jerry Swanson, Sarah Koenig, and
Ronald Rowland II. She was eagerly anticipating the arrival of another great-grandson
through Daniel and Jordan, who are expecting their first baby in September. She was
also joyed to learn about the recent engagements of Leah to Brittany Reader and
Denny to Dr. Mindy Himler. Maxine also took great joy in witnessing the love shared
between Carlee and Nolan Honecker.
Her legacy was woven with threads of elegance and passion for the finer things in life.
From her successful career at Macy's, which she retired from at the remarkable age of
85, to the beautiful new home she acquired just last year. Maxine demonstrated the
power of determination and hard work. She taught us that life's luxuries were meant to
be shared, and she took immense pleasure in treating her loved ones to the best life
had to offer.
Maxine’s heart knew no bounds when it came to her family. Her love was a guiding light
that provided comfort, strength, and inspiration to all. She leaves behind a legacy of
unbreakable bonds, kindness, and an enduring spirit that will continue to uplift us in
times of sorrow and joy.
As we say our farewells, let us remember Maxine for the love she gave, the memories
she created, and the lessons she imparted. Her legacy will forever shine in the hearts of
those who were fortunate enough to share in her journey.
