Gary Longstreth, 85, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous five-month battle with gastroesophageal cancer. He was born on September 26, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio, to Walter and Jane Longstreth. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife of 33 years, Mary Longstreth, beloved pet companion Ernie and her son Keith Mason.

He is lovingly remembered by his significant other, Gwen Weihe, and her family and friends. Gwen has been steadfastly by his side—gracious, devoted, and his greatest cheerleader. Gary is also survived by his dedicated children, Eric (Candace) Longstreth of Delaware, Ohio, Erin (Phillip) Maynard of Delaware, Ohio, Evan (Susan) Longstreth of Cumming, Georgia, and their mother Sandra Bush Weides (Delaware, Ohio) Karen (James) Jewell of Dublin, Ohio; his cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Lillian, Luke, Olivia "Livy Jane," Wyatt, Grant, Charley, and Isla; Gretchen (Tom) Whaling of Powell, Ohio, Brian (Krystal) Mason of Lewis Center, Ohio, and Aaron (Nicole) Mason of Phoenix, Arizona; his great-grandchildren, Raven, James, and, Vincent, Tristan, Cameron, Brady, Oliva, and Avery ; and finally his "brother" and dear friend, George (Beth) Gillespie of Dublin, Ohio.

Gary graduated from West High School in 1958 and continued his education at Franklin University. He also served in the Army Reserves and was a proud Mason for over 62 years. Following a 42-year career with PNC, he retired with a legacy of fighting spirit, never wanting to give up, dedication, loyalty, and hard work. Gary will be remembered for his warm smile, witty sense of humor, and deep love for family and friends, he always wanted to make sure everyone was “okay” and encouraged his kids and grandkids to always work hard and do their best to achieve their dreams and goals. Gary was most happy being outside soaking up the sun, and treasured reading, history, traveling with family and friends, supporting his children and grandchildren by attending their sporting events and school activities. He loved playing and watching golf, and he especially enjoyed attending and volunteering at the Memorial Golf Tournament, hosting Muirfield parties, many memories and good times were had by all at the famous “Friday” Muirfield parties. Gary took great pride in his yard and garden, enjoyed watching football, and appreciated the simple pleasure of sharing laughter, good conversation and a good bourbon with those he loved. His kindness, laughter, and generous spirit will be remembered always by all who knew him.

We express our deepest gratitude for the love, support, prayers, of Gary’s neighbors, and numerous friends and family, The Care 360 hospice team, The Griswold Group care team, the fourth-floor medical staff at Dublin Methodist Hospital, who cared for Gary with such care and compassion.
