Dr. David Ranjitsingh, a faithful servant of Christ, peacefully entered into the presence of the Lord on February 1, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, David was the cherished son of D.P. Jebamoney and Janeamma.
His early years were spent in Chennai, where he attended Christian School before pursuing higher education at Madras Christian College (MCC) in Tambaram. In 1962, he graduated from Stanley Medical College and began his career as a doctor. It was during his early tenure at the CSI Mission Hospital that he met Mary, who would become his devoted wife and lifelong partner in ministry.
His father fell seriously ill in 1959 and sadly passed away 10 years later. During this time, David stepped up to assume the roles of both older brother and father figure for his siblings. His youngest sister was just 6 months old at the time. He provided guidance and support, helping them navigate their way to college and achieve successful careers. They will forever be grateful.
David started his own medical practice where he dedicated himself to serving underprivileged patients and their families, providing not only medical care but also sharing the word of God. Throughout his career, he also preached to thousands, impacting many lives with his faith and dedication.
In early 1982, David and Mary moved their family to the US, where he pursued further education to re-qualify as a doctor in the United States. He spent four years working at the City of Faith Hospital in Tulsa, OK, before relocating to Ohio. Dr. Ranjitsingh joined the Department of Veterans Affairs, eventually rising to the position of Chief of Medicine. Along with his clinical leadership, he served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Ohio State University before retiring from the VA after 18 years of dedicated service.
David devoted his life to his faith. From a young age, he played the piano and was a gifted bass singer at church. His passion for Christ never slowed down. For over 30 years, he led a non-denominational worship group in Columbus. He also started the Columbus Prayer Summit 27 years ago, which has since evolved into the Ohio Prayer Summit bringing together numerous churches across Ohio for fasting and prayer. He was a member of Radiant Life Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Daphne Das.
David is survived by his wife Mary of nearly 60 years, and their three sons, Sam, Danny, James (Christine), and a brother JV Sunder Singh and three sisters, Caroline Daniel, Violet Boaz, Ruth Jagadish.
